Sen. Cornyn: So-Called "Public Option" No More Than A Trojan Horse That Will Result In Government-Run Health Care

Oct 26 2009

WASHINGTON-U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, a member of the Senate Finance Committee, today issued the following statement regarding Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid's announcement that he plans to move forward with a vote on the government-run health care plan:

"There is nothing ‘optional' about a public option. The so-called ‘public option' is nothing more than a Trojan horse that will ultimately result in government-run health care. This partisan proposal will also raise premiums on those with private insurance, raise taxes on the middle class, and cut Medicare benefits for seniors."
