On Fox, Cornyn Discusses Americans Kidnapped, Murdered by Mexican Drug Cartel Members
This is the latest, sad chapter in a continuing saga of violence and lawlessness.
We need to hear the President say that he is going to protect American sovereignty.
I would take nothing off the table when it comes to protecting American lives.
WASHINGTON – Today on Fox News’ The Story with Martha MacCallum, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) discussed the tragic killing of two Americans by Mexican drug cartel members. Excerpts of Sen. Cornyn’s remarks are below, and video can be found here.
CORNYN: “This is the latest, sad chapter in a continuing saga of violence and lawlessness.”
MACCALLUM: “What would you like to hear from President Biden about this situation?”
CORNYN: “The Biden administration has an open-borders policy in essence, welcoming people from all around the world into the United States only to be released and never heard from again, successfully making it here without any consequences.”
“We need to hear the President say that he is going to protect American sovereignty and he’s going to protect American lives by stopping this flow. And the way to do that is both at the border and by assisting the Mexicans in dealing with the cartels in their country.”
“I would take nothing off the table when it comes to protecting American lives.”
MACCALLUM: “Do you expect to hear that kind of statement from the President, and would you expect it to happen today, tomorrow, when?”
CORNYN: “Sadly, I would not expect it from the President. I would love to be surprised. I would love to be encouraged by him taking this problem seriously, but he has not taken it seriously for the two years he’s been in office.”
“I know his political base is for this open-borders policy that continues to enrich the cartels, and they’re going to keep doing this as long as they’re making money.”
