Cornyn Supports Colleagues’ Disaster Relief Request After Hurricane Helene
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement in support of an appropriations package to provide disaster relief to the millions of Americans impacted by Hurricane Helene, as requested by Senators Thom Tillis (R-NC), Ted Budd (R-NC), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Tim Scott (R-SC), Raphael Warnock (D-GA), Jon Ossoff (D-GA), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Rick Scott (R-FL), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Mark Warner (D-VA), and Tim Kaine (D-VA):
“Texas is no stranger to hurricanes and other deadly storms, so I well understand the destruction caused by storms like Hurricane Helene. While the impacted communities are still in the preliminary assessment stages, it is clear the devastation will require Congress to act promptly and significantly to ensure that our fellow Americans get the help they desperately need.”
