Senator Cornyn

"There's nothing in the Constitution that empowers the President to order particularly private employers to do anything."

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement after voting for the resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ vaccine mandate for health care workers:

“There’s nothing in the Constitution that empowers the President to order particularly private employers to do anything.”

“I encourage everybody to get vaccinated, I have been and will continue to encourage my constituents and friends and family to do so.”

“But that’s their choice, not mine, and not President Biden’s.”
